CM: Milan’s stance clear as €20m asking price is set for midfielder; Leicester interested

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have set their asking price for midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu, a report claims, with Premier League side Leicester interested.

La Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Nicolo Schira broke the news on Tuesday that Leicester have indeed made enquiries over the former Leverkusen man.

He reports that the 25-year-old is not considered unsellable by the Rossoneri hierarchy and therefore could depart next month, although the player would rather seal a return to the Bundesliga than move to England.

Now, Calciomercato.com have provided their own take on the situation by claiming that Calhanoglu’s departure in January is a possibility.

Despite the fact he has been a starter for the most part under Stefano Pioli, the club are looking for buyers for both economic and contractual reasons, with his deal set to expire in 2021.

For this reason Milan have decided to sell, with the aim of cashing at least €20million. Leicester have indeed asked for information, the report continues, where Calhanoglu could unite with fellow Turkey international Soyuncu.

However, the Rossoneri would prefer to sell to Germany, where the idea of RB Leipzig rekindling their interest cannot be ruled out.
