CM: Motta must soon face rumours about his future – Milan and Juventus lurk

By Oliver Fisher -

Bologna are in the heart of the battle for a Champions League spot, but there continues to be a lot of speculation regarding his future beyond this season.

As Calciomercato.com write, of the credit for Bologna’s potentially historic must be given to the Motta who, from the bench, has a certain way of interpreting and expressing football. That makes it no surprise that the Rossoblu have been among the best sides to watch this season.

Motta’s exploits have been noticed around Europe but it is especially in Italy that the big teams are seriously thinking about him for next season. Milan and above all Juventus are in the front row, as per the source.

In the next few months Cristiano Giuntoli will decide whether Massimiliano Allegri will lead the Bianconeri next season or not and in the event of a change, the former Italian-Brazilian midfielder is the profile that convinces him the most.

Milan too will have to make a call on Stefano Pioli based on how the rest of the season goes, and Senior Advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic knows Motta well from their time together at Paris Saint-Germain. We hypothesised how the Rossoneri might look under Motta in a recent feature.

More in the background for now are Napoli, who last summer tried to persuade Motta. In the meantime, he continues to work on Bologna and, even in the last few days, he has tried to avoid rumours about his future, ones he must soon face.

  1. Hope everyone realizes Motta plays the LW (and RW) wide in his version of the 4231, similar to how wide the wingers are in Barca’s/Peps 433 (I figure he’s using the Barca 433 concepts on the 4231..wingers stay wide until they are needed, stretch the defence, push the midfield up and the plays build up otherwise through the middle ie Ferguson/Z). Saying all of this to say that it would limit Theo.
