CM: New number, rejected offers – Jovic remains in limbo amid Milan’s unchanged stance

Some rather surprising news emerged yesterday regarding Luka Jovic, given the rumours that he is someone AC Milan would not mind selling, as he changed to the No.9 shirt.

A quick look on the club shop website at the customisation options for 2024-25 kits shows that Milan have filled the number nine shirt left vacant after Olivier Giroud’s departure, with Jovic having moved to take it from being No.15.

Calciomercato.com ask if this is a mistake or a clear clue that confirms that he will stay under the orders of Paulo Fonseca together with Alvaro Morata. The answer will arrive soon, because the mercato has just over a couple of weeks left to run.

Any potential move by Milan for another striker depends on the Serbian, who is not at the centre of the project and in the face of a suitable offer the club would let him go. The arrival of Tammy Abraham depends on the possible sale of the former Real and Fiorentina man, who however does not want to leave at the moment.

Milan tried to include Jovic in the negotiations with Roma for the English striker to lower the cash sum required from €25-30m. However, Jovic wants to remain a Rossoneri player, having rejected offers from Zenit St. Petersburg and Saudi clubs in recent weeks.

It is a stance that however does not change his status in the eyes of the Milan management, who do not consider him to be indispensable and as mentioned they would take all offers into account, knowing they would generate a capital gain because the forward arrived on a free.

  1. That’s so annoying of him, he knows he’s not good enough for this level of football so he’s forcing himself to stay at this level which isn’t good for Milan, and why do we need three strikers anyway (if we sold him we were gonna buy another)

  2. Have a good one jovic. Bag some goals for us so the ungrateful people, like some above, will have something to talk about.

  3. Why do I always see nothing wrong with what people consider wrong?

Like I see what is wrong with Jovic, Chukwu, and Emerson and why they should not be given any benefit of doubt

    1. Your mistake is thinking others don’t see it. I don’t think anyone here thinks they’re perfect, but can they contribute to the squad and are there other options? Your next revelation will be that Origi might not dominate this year

  4. It would turn out to be hilarious if after claiming the 9 he still ends up getting sold hahaha

“Hope you enjoyed it for a month” 🙂
