CM: Petagna to Cagliari could start domino effect involving Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

Cagliari have agreed a deal with Monza to sign Andrea Petagna and it could spark a domino effect involving AC Milan, according to a report.

Calciomercato.com report that the first two games of the season for Cagliari on their return to Serie A – which saw zero goals scored in 180 minutes – has reinforced the need for a striker, especially with Pavoletti and Lapadula’s injuries.

An agreement was reached this morning between the Sardinian club and Monza over a loan with option to buy deal for Petage. In the next few hours the former Milan man is expected in Cagliari for his medical and to sign his contract.

Monza have identified his replacement: Lorenzo Colombo. He could arrive on loan from Milan and they are waiting for a definitive decision, but the operation is subject to the acquisition of a new striker by the Rossoneri.

Milan are persisting with their attempts to sign Mehdi Taremi from FC Porto and perhaps the Petagna deal could be the first of three moves concerning Cagliari, Monza and the Rossoneri.
