CM: Pioli ready to welcome Rebic back into the fold – his mission is clear

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli can breathe a sigh of relief as he will welcome Ante Rebic back into the fold after the break, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com reports that today is a second consecutive rest day granted by Pioli to his squad who will return to training tomorrow to begin preparing for the away match against Empoli.

In addition to those who return from their respective national teams, the coach also plans to have Rebic back at full capacity during the week as the Croatian has now completely disposed of the hernia that kept him out of the last few games.

After the brace he scored against Udinese, many thought that Rebic could well be set for a redemption season of sorts but the injury certainly delayed that momentum plus the positive feelings having also had an excellent pre-season.

Now the mission is simple: to demonstrate that he can be an asset for Milan for a longer period of time than last season, because the former Eintracht Frankfurt man has the ability to influence games as seen by the fact he hit double figures in goals in the 2019-20 and 2020-21 season.

  1. I hope his mission is not to get injured every second match lol. He has hit double figures even though we didn’t have the quality of attack we have now so that is positive hope he can stay fit
