Christian Pulisic has told Chelsea he will not join Lyon this summer because he only wants to join AC Milan, a report claims.
According to the latest from Calciomercato.com, the attempt made by Lyon to convince Pulisic has not led to the desired results because the American has made it clear that he doesn’t want to go there.
Instead, he wants to join the Rossoneri and he has made that clear to Chelsea, who were on the verge of accepting a proposal worth around €25m made by Lyon’s American president Textor.
Milan are continuing to work with confidence towards the potential signing of Pulisic and an agreement has been reached with the player on contractual terms, but one with Chelsea is still missing.
CEO Giorgio Furlani presented an initial offer of around €15m while the Blues want €10m more to sell the 24-year-old, with the negotiation ‘going on like a game of chess’.
The next move by the Milan management will be to improve the first proposal but they consider €25m to be too high for a player who actively wants to join and whose contract expires in 2024.
New contacts are also expected in the next few hours, while Stefano Pioli is already waiting enthusiastically to work with the former Borussia Dortmund star.
Tonali was sold for 64 million. They bring Loftus for at least 16 million.
There is 48 million available from Tonali sale.
If they bring Pulisic, they can bring only Reijnders. Either way Tonali sale could be good educated guess.
Still, there are players like Rebic, Messias, Origi, Caldara, Ballo Toure which should be sold, and with that revenue bring 2 or three more players, specially very good striker and Chukwueze or Kamada for free.
That would be excellent summer transfer season.
The proceeds from Tonali being sold weren’t our entire budget and there was other money that was available. If this new management is serious, then would sign Reijnders, Frattesi, Pulisic and Musah. Also, if we sign Chukuweze, Kamada won’t come. I’d prefer Chumuweze for many reasons.
Do I think we will do this? I don’t think so because I have doubts over the new management.
