Real Madrid may no longer be in the running to land AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma due to financial uncertainties surrounding the club.
That is according to Calciomercato.com (via MilanLive), The Spanish club – among the most historic, renowned and rich in the world – have been forced to review all its corporate strategies.
In particular, Los Blancos have turned their attention to technical sponsor Adidas and the main sponsor Fly Emirates (the same as Milan). The German brand has asked the Government for help to close the quarter without a huge loss, while the Arab airline has already lowered the salary of its employees by 50%.
Other minor partners, such as Hankook, Tecate, Audi and the Palladium Group will also have to review their agreements with Real Madrid which could result in a huge drop in income.
This would mean downsizing their project, with repercussions specifically on the transfer market, for which Gianluigi Donnarumma is a ‘concrete goal’ – or was.
The report adds that their assault has been postponed because of his €50million asking price with no current conditions to make a bid.
