CM: Red Bull Salzburg striker dreams of playing for Milan like his father did

By Oliver Fisher -

Red Bull Salzburg striker Roko Simic dreams of one day being able to play for AC Milan and is working his way towards a potential call, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com claims that Simic is a player that has been followed by Milan for some time and continues to be, with the 18-year-old striker impressing in his latest loan spell well Austrian second division side FC Liefering where he has six goals in nine appearances, allowing him to break into the Croatian U21 side.

Roko is the son of Dario Simic who in Italy played with Inter and Milan, with whom he won everything including two Champions Leagues. The teenager was born in the city and would like to return to play for Milan as he confirmed over the summer: “Milan with Dinamo Zagreb are my greatest love. I dream of wearing the Rossoneri shirt.”

His father Dario also has the wish for his son to play for Milan and he has remained very attached to the Diavolo and to former team-mate Paolo Maldini. Salzburg paid NK Lokomotiva Zagreb €4m plus 10% on future resale to sign him in the summer and they have him in their immediate plans, but the Milan dream remains.

  1. Successors of great Milan defenders end up being attackers, Simic and Maldini. Can’t wait for that to happen and their fathers watching on the stands.
