Tijjani Reijnders has had more success in his international career in the past two years than he has with AC Milan, but that could change in the coming months.
As reported by Calciomercato.com, there are ingredients in the current Milan team that match up best with the players that he excels with for the Netherlands.
Reijnders got two goals and an assist for Ronald Koeman’s team in the recent international window and has cemented his place as one of the most important players in the team.
Has been playing at the centre in a 4-3-3 which is a formation that Paulo Fonseca could soon switch to with Milan in an effort to halt the poor form.
One of the ways that Reijnders has played so well in this role is the link-up with Joshua Zirkzee, who has dropped deep when playing as the striker and helped to link up play. This is something that Alvaro Morata could certainly do, with Christian Pulisic and Rafael Leao on the flanks.
Morata cannot play in every single game, but Reijnders occasionally has Wout Weghorst in front of him and his style of play is similar to that of Tammy Abraham, so Reijnders could be comfortable with either of Milan’s main strikers.
Just even more annoying seeing him and zirkzee link up with beautiful football. Cheap management = Cheap results.
Imagine what Tij, Zirkzee, Leao, Pulisic woulda done this season.
I totally agree. We had Zirkzee in the bag but they made his agents commission into an unsurmountable obstacle. He would have been excellent for us for now and the future. He was sold for the same price Koopmeiners was purchased by Juve , so he was well worth that price.
I would rather have Morata and Tammy than an unproven Zirkzee. We need experience up front. Not a late developing player like Zirkzee. Also his price was ridiculous, another stupid decision from United just like they did with the 75m for an unproven Hojlund. This isn’t Chelsea or United.
We all have different opinions. For me , Zirkzee would have been awesome with us , I’m not going to knock back Tammy or Morata but they were very clearly not first choices.
Zirkzee would have ignited enthusiasm and excitement the club hasn’t experienced in a long time as a real Marquee signing.
Not to mention the technical level of the side would have been very high.
Tammy is just a dryloan option, you should never consider, if he play well or not.
Morata is 33y old and don’t see him to be Next Zlatan or giroud to play long years.
What did we got in the end? Th promise to sign good young striker since many isn’t still unfulfilled.
Zirkzee isn’t proved that’s right, but he has all the potential to buy him for 55m including bonuses.
He can play false 9, pure striker and one of very few strikers who can dribble. He is the only positive for united against Liverpool.
Paying 4m for 24y old is better than 33y old 5m

Everyone understands this but Fahkseca so far… Hopefully he comes around. This team has everything for a 433 setup.
