CM: Meeting scheduled, price set – Samardzic could be Milan’s midfield ‘surprise’

By Oliver Fisher -

The hypothesis of Lazar Samardzic joining AC Milan is gathering momentum with each passing hour it seems, and a meeting with his representatives is scheduled.

According to Calciomercato.com, the priority of the Milan management to strengthen the midfield remains a player with more defensive characteristics and that is why Youssouf Fofana of Monaco is still a concrete target.

However Moncada, Furlani and Ibrahimovic do not exclude the possibility of signing a more creative midfielder too such as Adrien Rabiot or Samardzic, someone who increases the quality level of the department.

Fenerbahce, Lazio and Atalanta have all been timidly linked with Samardzic but it is Milan who are the latest to move and they have done so concretely. In fact, the directors have scheduled a meeting in the next few days with the Serb’s father, Mr. Mladen.

He was a protagonist both in the failed move to Inter – one which collapsed after the Udinese player had even undergone his medical – and the deal with Napoli which fell apart when he put forward commission requests that were deemed too high.

With Milan however there is a long courtship. The club wanted him when he was at Hertha BSC but he opted for RB Leipzig, while now the player has a year left on his deal and there are no positive signs regarding a possible extension.

To be able to sign him there would likely need to be a sale and in this sense Ismael Bennacer, Yacine Adli and Tommaso Pobega are the likely candidates. For the first two there are rumours of a possible exit towards Saudi Arabia.

Geoffrey Moncada has carried out an initial exploratory survey for Samardzic who, after a rather troubled season with six goals and two assists in 34 games, could be on the move this summer. Udinese want €25m to sell, despite the fact that last summer Inter have agreed a deal worth €20m plus Giovanni Fabbian.

  1. Depends on his agent (father?) Messing around. If not I think he’d be a very useful option either as attacking no.8 or no.10 depending on the formation Fonseca decides to use.

However not holding my breath, lot of rumors this window and we often seem to switch targets for one reason or another.

    1. More reason for him not to ‘bomb’ again, 3rd time’s a charm

If we got Fofana, Rabiot and Samardzic in the same window, that would be extraordinary, dare we dream

Out: Adli, Pobega and Salesmeekers = must be worth between €30m to €35m

Seems a no brainer, let’s see

      1. These 3 would make more so that Bennacer leaves than Adli. How are Rabiot, Fofana, Bennacer, Reijnders gonna play together without RLC, Musah, Samardzic starving for minutes?

I offer even better deal. Ederson is leaving City and Julian Alvarez wants out. Maignan-Alvarez swap, to then go to Valencia this year again and get the biggest upcoming GK talent Giorgi Mamardashvili, 40M release clause!

Alvarez, Leao and Pulisic in attack man, with either mine or your midfield, Theo and Tomori staying…

  2. We’re after a player who literally has an agent, along with its commission and drama, problem. Okay that’s new.

And his contract runs out in 2026.

  3. His agent is a mess. Pulled a fast one on Inter when he was having his medical and demanded higher wages last minute. Inter pulled the plug. Lets not go down that route.

  4. not gonna lie Samardzic, Fofana in and Pobega out might be the most beautiful thing I have seen in ages…

Pavlovic next, Kiwior (to let Thiaw go for 40M… Newcastle making amazing deals lmao… the moment he goes there he will flop, the most overrated player that we have, constant personal errors)

Morata and someone young and bright and not injured for the past 2 years…

close to 110M margin (excluding the striker) which if we then include sales, next expenditure should be at 30M…

  5. I rather see them get Fofana and his deputy. Or will Musah take that role and Lazar will play with Reijnders for the spot🤔

    1. Maybe 4231 with double pivot fofana – tiji while lazar play as AMF . Thats if they success buy fofana first . Fofana must priority before lazar , but too bad they play waiting game vs monaco while other mid table club EPL can easily pay 25m euro to monaco

  6. he is great young player no doubts but he is not a CDM mid. He is more of the same mould as Reinjders. We see someone to protect the backline, he is a different type of player. Ugarte at PSG is great pick-up if we can negotiate a deal with PSG.

  7. Badiashile is likely to leave Chelsea I think. Whole thing is blowing up with Enzo Fernandez. Argentina’s team is all like that. Not surprising.

    Though I Still prefer Pavlovic.

  8. His agent/father seems to be a rotten apple in that deal, but the only upside of this situation might be that as he already bombarded 2 deals with top flight clubs, he might just simply let it go this time.

It’s worth trying tho, many top clubs wanted him over the years.

  9. Only happen if benna, adili, pobega leave. Well who want to buy that three? Hoping saudi pro league club to buy benna or adili ? I will keep pobega for home grown slot

    1. Pobega is the worst midfielder we got in our roster after that Traore in bantem era. Bro hold on to his citizenship for his dear live. Even Kecin Constant is better than him
