AC Milan have chosen their primary target for the defence: Malick Thiaw. The Rossoneri are ready to make a decisive attempt for the defender after it was made clear that Trevoh Chalobah won’t leave Chelsea.
Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have evaluated several centre-backs throughout the summer but it hasn’t materialised in anything. And just as Chalobah appeared ‘close’, Chelsea made a U-turn and decided to block the move.
Milan, therefore, are ready to go all-out for the player that is still on their radar and available: Thiaw. This was reported by Calciomercato.com, he has a price tag of €5-6m and the Rossoneri are ready to sign him permanently.
In fact, Maldini and Massara want to close the deal on Monday. It would certainly be categorised as a signing for the future as Thiaw still has a lot to learn. It will be perfect for him to work with Tomori, Kalulu and especially the experience Kjaer.
If the deal is closed, we would have players taller than 6’3 for each GK,DF,MF,and Forward position.
I don’t think he’s comfortable as LB, which would have been useful and gotten him extra minutes. Instead I guess we’ll occasionally use Calabria/Florenzi/Kalulu there when resting Theo.
He can play at CB and DM.
Gabbia, Kjaer, Tomori, Kalulu are enough for rotations
Vice-Theo is worrying, we are really Theo-dependant right now
