CM: Showdown between Gazidis and Maldini-Massara soon – the possible outcomes

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan CEO Ivan Gazidis wants a meeting with directors Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara to understand their intentions after the departure of Zvonimir Boban, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com are claiming that there is no precise date yet determined for the showdown, which will likely be decisive for the futures of the aforementioned duo, but it will soon be set and should be early next week at the latest.

Gazidis is in a hurry to establish whether the current technical staff can continue until the end of the season or whether there may actually have already been a total breakdown in relations.

If they stay until June, it is then that the overall assessments will be made. Elliott Management did not like the failure of the Giampaolo choice and the fact some new signings have not shown the progress expected.

Elliott will not fire Maldini and Massara, at least not mid-season, so it would be up to them to leave. Their position hangs in the balance, but nothing has been defined in detail yet. Maldini is carefully considering whether to go now, at the end of the season or continue next season with a role with less responsibility compared to the current one.
