CM: Still no room for Hauge despite Rebic’s absence – when his first start is likely to be

By Oliver Fisher -

Summer signing Jens Petter Hauge could make his first AC Milan start in Thursday’s Europa League game against Sparta Praha, a report claims.

It has been a fairytale few weeks for the 21-year-old who has scored both for and against Milan in the same competition, having made the move from Bodo/Glimt following the second qualifying round game at San Siro.

Many thought Hauge might start the game against Celtic given the injury to Ante Rebic, but he was forced to make do with a spot on the bench.

He came on just after the hour mark and sealed the game with virtually the last kick, as the Norwegian stole in behind the defence and manage to hold off pressure to slot under the onrushing Barkas and make it 3-1.

According to the latest from Calciomercato.com, a dream evening in Scotland against Celtic is still not enough to convince Pioli to give him his first ever start in the league, even despite the fact Rebic is still out.

Hauge is patiently waiting for his moment and working hard in training, and the report adds that his first start could very well be on Thursday in the next Europa League match at San Siro against Sparta Prague.
