AC Milan’s interest in Josip Ilicic is reportedly not as concrete as is made out and for now he remains just an idea, but one thing could offer an advantage.
Di Marzio (via MilanNews) reported yesterday that with or without the renewal of Hakan Calhanoglu, Milan are seriously interested in Ilicic. The player could have the will to fulfil his dream of playing in a top club and sporting director Ricky Massara – who followed him at Roma with Monchi – has sensed an opportunity.
According to the latest from Calciomercato.com, Ilicic’s future could be away from Atalanta and there are two things that could push him out of the exit door and possibly towards Milan. The first is the desire of the Slovenia international to end his career in a top club, while the second is that he has a relationship with head coach Gian Piero Gasperini that is not idyllic.
For Milan, however, Ilicic represents only an idea given that in the past the sporting director Massara had tried to bring him to Roma and still admires him a lot.
