Sky: Milan have concrete interest in signing Ilicic regardless of Calhanoglu’s future – serious contacts underway

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are serious about signing Josip Ilicic from Atalanta regardless of what happens with Hakan Calhanoglu’s future, a report claims.

The 33-year-old has 55 goals and 37 assists in 141 games for La Dea since arriving and has been one of their best performers, but Di Marzio revealed last night how Milan have taken a shine to the Slovenia international.

Now, Di Marzio (via MilanNews) has offered some more information on the situation and claims that with or without the renewal Calhanoglu, Milan are seriously interested in Ilicic. The player could have the will to fulfil his dream of playing in a top club and sporting director Ricky Massara – who followed him at Roma with Monchi – has sensed an opportunity.

Ilicic’s relationship with Gasperini is no longer what it once was and there have been serious contacts with Milan, but considering the age of the player the Rossoneri do not want to spend too much money.
