AC Milan have targeted Youssouf Fofana, and there are a couple of factors that could help them land the Monaco midfielder according to a report.
Calciomercato.com are reporting that Fofana seems to have clear ideas about his future as we enter the last few months of the current campaign, and this is what could play into the hands of the Milan management.
The first boost comes from the fact that the 26-year-old’s contract will expire in June 2025, and the Frenchman has hinted that he wants to leave Monaco once they have qualified for the next edition of the Champions League.
Furthermore, his words certainly suggested that he is flattered by the links and that he would be interested in joining. With his deal expiring in a year, it is very likely that Fofana will leave Monaco for a bargain price in the summer.
“I think that Milan is a truly enormous club. Everyone knows Milan and their list of successes. But apart from the chatter in Italy I remain focused on my mission: that of taking Monaco to the Champions League which will be like a marathon,” he said.
“From now until the end of the season every match is like a final. And there are seven left to play. When you play for Monaco you know that the Champions League is the club’s natural objective.
“As already said, Milan is one of the biggest clubs in the world with an important trophy cabinet but my focus currently is to qualify for the Champions League with Monaco.”
