CM: ‘Overflowing physical strength’ – Vos impresses in Milan Futuro debut

By Oliver Fisher -

It wasn’t a win, but yesterday was still a historic day for Milan Futuro as they managed to get their first ever point in Serie C, coming from behind to draw against Carpi.

As Calciomercato.com recall, it could have been three precious points if Hugo Cuenca had not missed a gigantic opportunity right in the last minute of added time, sending it high over the crossbar with a header from two steps from the goal line.

However, the draw is still an improvement from the defeat against Virtus Entella in round one, and there were a number of positives to take from the game. There were steps forward in terms of play and intensity compared to the first outing as the technical ability started to make up for the physical gap.

Alex Jiménez is certainly the one who suffers the least from this point of view, but it is a different story for captain Kevin Zeroli who found it more difficult to get involved over the 90 minutes of play. Francesco Camarda struggled too until scoring the penalty in the second half, which he won.

Meanwhile, it took just 45 minutes in the second half for Silvano Vos to show what he is made of. He showed ‘overflowing physical strength’ and made the level look too easy after his arrival from Ajax for a few million, and the feeling watching him play was that he will not be in Serie C for long.

The 19-year-old was good in the transition phase and very good at breaking through the opposition lines. Milan’s plan was to give him a couple of months with the Futuro to settle in and then move to the senior team, but the Dutchman can accelerate things.

  1. I watched the highlights. VOS was pretty next level. Great passing, dribbling and bursts forward. Everything we’re waiting for Musah to become and RLC to have been.
