Christian Pulisic of Chelsea

CM: When Pulisic will land in Italy to complete his move to Milan from Chelsea

AC Milan are on the verge of completing their fourth signing of the summer as the programme for Christian Pulisic’s arrival has been drawn up.

Marco Sportiello, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Luka Romero were all out on the field yesterday for the first training session of the preseason campaign and they should be joined by Pulisic very soon.

According to Calciomercato.com, Pulisic is expected in Italy on Wednesday and should undergo his medical tests on Thursday at La Madonnina clinic, before heading to the Centro Ambrosiano for his fitness checks and then to Casa Milan to sign his contract.

Milan closed the deal with Chelsea on the basis of a €20m fee, including bonuses. The USA international always gave priority to the Rossoneri by declining Lyon, and he will sign a four-year contract.

Then, he will get to work with Stefano Pioli and his new team-mates before heading off to his home country for the preseason tour starting July 21.

  1. No way Lyon made an offer of 25M, they are under financial scrutiny by the French league and just got denied an incoming transfer costing only 5M by DNCG because they can’t afford it. It seems like fake reports from either Chelsea to raise the price tag or Milan to make them look like winners on the market.

Anyway welcome Mascot America we’ll need you in shape!

  2. A fit Pulisic on form would be the second best player in the squad behind Leao. Full stop. It’s a big IF, but if he stays fit and plays like he did in 2020, this deal would have been an absolute bargain.

      1. Agreed. He is a classy player. Always works hard, has a high IQ, uses both feet well. Captains the US national team and doesn’t have a single blemish on his record in terms of behavior behind the scenes. He will be a great addition.

      2. 41 goal contributions in 69 games at the national level. Wouldn’t be the first player that left Chelsea to find their best form. Examples. Tomori, De Bruyne, Salah, Rice, Lukaku, Musiala, and I’m sure there are more.

        1. I was about to copy-paste the same stats but no need for that now. 😀

Those are really good numbers and should highlight his true level. Let’s hope he’ll do even better with Milan.

        2. Musiala is a Chelsea youth product too?
Wow they have by far the best youth system. They are the new La Masia. And they keep buying the best talents across the world. It seems like every week Fabrizio posts about a new talent signed by Chelsea.
Wish Milan could start doing that with their Primavera

          1. Its not really that great. It’s just they sign every young player with a bit of promise and consistently have 20 players on loan. For every musiala you have a baba rahman

  3. Pulisic is a very good player when fit. That’s a key issue. Another issue is that he’s being talked about as a utility player. I keep reading he can play anywhere up front. Does anyone know what position he’s being signed for? Look at how much Krunic has improved now that he has a defined position. For some reason I think of Germany’s decline when it comes to this. Werner going from a second striker to alternating between lone striker and left winger, Gnabry playing between left wing, right wing, and false nine, Havertz thrown around between attacking midfield, right wing, and striker, Kimmich going from best right back in the world to filling gaps in midfield.

    1. I think Pulisic would play AM…hence why we’re going after Chuk for RW. But that’s my guess. And it is conducive to the 4231 formation
That’s not to say he can’t play wing from time to time
