CM: Why Argentine striker has chosen to join Spurs over Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

Tottenham will soon announce the signing of Alejo Veliz from Rosario Central with AC Milan missing out on the striker, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com confirm that Spurs have won the race to sign Veliz from the Argentine club after a ‘sudden blitz’. They will pay his €15m release clause and have offered up €6m in bonuses which was more than enough to convince Rosario.

In the coming days, the 19-year-old is expected in London for his medical and the signing of a multi-year contract with the north London club.

Torino were keen on bringing him to Italy but had a bid rejected while Milan were also interested but more for the winter transfer window than the current one.

Veliz – who will soon be called up by Scaloni for the Argentina senior national team after impressing with the U20s at the World Cup – was convinced by Spurs’ desire to sign him immediately and by Ange Postecoglou’s plans.

  1. I suppose it was down to the decision of the player. What a shame really. I know we were linked to other Argentinian players too, including Beltran. There was another striker too but I don’t recall.

          1. Yep @Yelnats24 hahaha he brought up the player, I gave him an update on the situation as per Nicolo Shira and he starts replying with attitude, but that’s some people I guess

          2. I said we were linked with him. Asshat. Not that we were going to sign him. And we haven’t really been linked to Beltran in a while

          3. Haha classic Giancarlo the demoniac bully. I do want to believe he’s not a bad person in reality, it’s just the comfort of sitting behind the screen. Someone gives this man a hug!

      1. Nah man don’t disrespect them juve fans like that. Even Juve got fans with better attitude. People like him are the ones who support Lazio.

  2. Origi too slow make decision . There is nothing ACM can do , must focus get rid all deadwood first before signing again

  3. Should have signed this kid for only 15M?? Bargain price. Shouldn’t have waited to sell Origi first – he’s out of the team and Columbo is a 3rd or more likely 4th choice. One injury to a 37 yr old Giroud and we are done. Reminds me of Alvarez. Where are the ones who bitched about missing out on Alvarez and Enzo now???? Let me guess your waiting to see if he does well (like Alvarez and Enzo) then you will complain how management sucks for not getting him??? You know because having hindsight is super easy lol. Let’s see if those fans become hypocrites or not. Hmmmmm
