Sergio Conceicao wants to leave AC Milan in the best possible way, and is managing resources carefully ahead of the Coppa Italia final.

As Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) reports this morning, Milan have reached a point in the season where the league can no longer offer anything other than a miserable ninth place, barring late collapses from teams above.

Therefore, it is right that the Rossoneri and Conceicao in particular are concentrating on the Coppa Italia final scheduled for May 14 in Rome against Bologna. The idea, the intention, the dream is obviously to raise to the sky a trophy that has been missing for 22 years.

It would make the season less bitter, one that saw Milan’s main objective – the Scudetto – fade very early on, with a premature exit from the Champions League at the hands of Feyenoord also staining the campaign.

Conceicao’s plan

The Portuguese coach is aware of the importance of this match, and that is why he will prepare his team in the best possible way, hoping that they can peak at the right moment.

In this regard, the paper speaks of a ‘consolation double’, referring to the fact that in the event of a victory, the ex-Porto boss could leave Milan with two more trophies in his personal cabinet.

As we reported, the feeling is that Conceicao will depart at the end of the season even if those in charge at the club have a change of heart and wish to continue with him for 2025-26.

In addition, his plan for the upcoming games is laid out: to field the starters on Monday against Genoa and then rotate heavily on Friday against Bologna in what is an appetiser for the final in the capital.

  1. All foreigners please leave, so the Italians can have their club.

I completely understand his position, especially when greats like Sacchi always had an opinion every week after a loss because he’s not italian, the press also, and the management didn’t help either, no form of protection whatsoever, it becomes tiring.
