GdS: Conceicao and Ibrahimovic spoke with the Milan squad for two hours – the reasons

After the defeat against Dinamo Zagreb, the mood around AC Milan has been quite low, however, Sergio Conceicao has aimed to shake things up.

Losing in Croatia has had a significant impact on things going forward; financially, the side are around €25m worse off, whilst the squad will also have to deal with another two games in Europe, adding to an already hectic February schedule.

Before the Derby della Madonnina, the group were locked in the dressing room with Sergio Conceicao and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, and as a result, the derby has already begun.

The report states that the group tried to consolidate the environment before the big game, encouraging each other to give extra, which flowed into the training session too, not just for Sunday’s showdown.

Conceicao, Ibra and the team spoke for almost two hours, all in an attempt to unify the group ahead of the test that awaits them, whilst the Portuguese also reiterated the fact that he has not asked to sell any player, and Ibrahimovic confirmed that these decisions were made by the club, not the coach.

A long conversation has been needed to try and relax the environment, with reports suggesting that there is tension in the dressing room.

  1. They can talk all the want, but team morale is not the main reason we’ve struggled this season. We simply have had too many glaring holes on the squad and not enough quality. RB has been non-existent. We’ve gotten nothing from the strikers. We have no midfield depth and have completely exhausted Tijji and Fofana. We don’t have a true #10. We have no quality deputies on the wings. The list goes on… All the motivational speeches in the world can’t overcome these basic issues.

    1. Yes but it is because management failed to find the correct player, we purchased chuk, okafor who supposed to give depth, but it turns out they are average. We bought RLC as well, as he was a promising midfielder as he bullied tonali last time we met chelsea. We have splashed millions for average player, so the problem maybe moncada magic is no longer work. And management thought we can be internazionalize, and chose non italian coach, what if we went with conte last summer the story would be different.

      1. The issues will continue with cone even worst case he won’t take nonsense from any player. Ask kvara or osimhen, will Milan allow him treat leao and theo like that. The point is the player has more power in Milan, that seems to have entered their head, but it’s different when you know your coach has all the power.
The is the reason we couldn’t sign conte, cause he will demand players and want anyone who doesn’t obey sold.

Sergio is a good coach, better as conte, the trophies states that.

Anyone who blames this coach, clearly don’t know football and should go watch wrestling instead.

When a coach has authority and players he demands. Everyone will perform.

This is one snd the biggest problem in Milan. Sergio bought rules that made him win trophies with players with less quality than ours. Not Fonseca who like a child wants to keep the ball rolling in circles.

From the hiring of Fonseca you can tell, the problem, beside the coach been a bad option.

They didn’t go for conte or Sergio at first because of the babies they have as player’s, they needed a yes man, that they can manipulate.

Conte controls the on field Management, both transfer. So all players will sit up if they don’t want to be sold.

This was what pioli asked for after winning the league,to have more control. Of potential signing etc.

    2. “team morale is not the main reason we’ve struggled this season”

The h3ll it isn’t!! Good attitude makes up for lots of deficiencies. Was is Sacchi who recently said he’d rather have not-that-good players giving their 100% than good ones giving their 80%?

Leicester won the EPL a decade ago. Did they have the best players? Nope. They had the best morale & attitude. When the marginals are small, those things are helluva important. Our squad beat Real Madrid & Inter (twice). That says something.

  2. Somebody in the club is also supposed to help take the pressure off the players. It seems that everyone is doing the opposite

  3. I am not against the club selling but let there be unity and respect to the trainers’ tactics. No one should tie anyone down. If you wanna leave, I respect that but while still here, give your best and respect Mr Sergio because all falls on his desk.
I heard words… Theo, Calabria(who is still the official captain but…), Morata, who feels team isn’t ready to play ball and tactics isn’t in his favour, Mr Sergio who feels the team is not worthy of his quality but trying to boost a dead battery which becomes weak after 30mins and says the management should improve on qualities as well give him his preferred tools which are way more than 20million….and lots more… Hmmmm

  4. Leave the coach do his magic. No need an advisor. Zlatan is a great player not a good advisor. Leave the coach and player doing football and enjoy wearing red and black, not doing money..

  5. 😂😂😂😧😧😧

The squad is not fit for winning major trophies that’s obviously a fact the coach has realised problem is if the coach isn’t a yes man and he wants his demands met to win big then this will only end in one way come June we’ll be looking for another yes man yet again.

Also apart from click bait youtubers podcast ect why is anyone excited with regards this transfer window?

More top talents leave Italy only to be replaced by more rejects or players of whom I’ve never heard of and with all due respect if they are that good wouldn’t be coming to Italy .

  6. They are bunch of average players without consistency. You can not boast of winning two consecutive matches. There is no quality of any holding midfielder in the midfield for any kind of formation. Some qualities are still there in Italy. Is like the players don’t seem to understand the history of Milan. There has to be a bench mark for kind of players to be recruited into Milan squad. I saw a right back in cuadrado that could have settled our problem, but but our scouts are blind. Could have explored while sending Kalulu to Juve and bringing cuadrado to Milan but now in Atalanta only to go for Royale on Tottenham who lacks playing time and prone to errors. There should be a standard with Milan greats as the benchmark for quality. Is glaring that Fonseca wasn’t the problem. Let’s rid out the underperforming players and raise the bar.

    1. It still baffles everyone how the fck Emerson was picked as the “new and improved” RB. And it’s a 100% unforgivable mistake. Moncada HAS TO pay.

  7. The only winner is this Milan squad is the current coach.

You can’t fault a man who has won consistently in his life, if he tells you something is not done right believe it.

But how can players who have never won more than. One trophy understand the demand.

We won the scudetto then because inter where losing and drawing matches, it was pure luck on our side. We would not have been able to compete if inter where in form. This team can’t compete because

Debt are lacking, we only have few god starters and our subs are better in wasting time rather than contributing anything.

Tell me,if we are losing and you want a game changer, who would you expect the coach to put.

When leao and theo are acting bad, who would you want the coach to replace them with.

They know they are the good players we have and so they get proud.

But imagine you have a Salah, and a gakpo and a Diaz and a jota and a Nunez in your attack. If you ever get the chance to start ahead of anyone you’ll die on the field to keep that position.

Or you have a mbappe a vini,a Rodrigo, a Bellingham, a brahim Diaz, a guler on the bench. The coach will instantly replace you when you’re under performing and likely to be sold

So this is Milan true problem. Lack of quality players and quality depths.

    No competition amongst players.

Look at inter they have replacement for every wing, no player can boast. Tratessi wants to leave cause he couldn’t secure a starting role.

Fratessi will be king in Milan if he is to join us,

    That’s how bad it is.

    1. “Look at inter they have replacement for every wing, no player can boast. Tratessi wants to leave cause he couldn’t secure a starting role.

Yes. The players there have to fight for their minutes. And they’ll gladly do it too. Unlike in the other Milanese club. Bench them deservedly and they’ll cry their eyes out and want to leave.

      1. I hate watching Merda play because anytime I do, it is always enjoyable. Way more than watching us play. It’s not just their playing system, the attitude & mentality of the players as well.
Di Marco, the only player I like there, is the personification of what I want my players to be. A local, fan of the club, bleeds for the shirt & a superb player as well. Exactly why Tonali’s sale angered me a lot. You don’t sell players like that.
