Sergio Conceicao was only hired two months ago by AC Milan, but there is a real risk that he may not even make it to the end of the season.
According to SportMediaset, the situation between Milan and Conceiçao is ‘complicated and almost compromised’. This is not only because of the league placement, with the Rossoneri now eight points behind the Champions League places, but also because of the coach’s words.
The Portuguese showed after the defeat to Bologna last night that he is feeling the pressure and seemed to acknowledge that the rumours surrounding him are growing in volume. He even gave the classic ‘if you want I’m leaving’ response, for the third time this season.
It was a clear message to the club, and even the words of Rafael Leao caused some worry because he stated that the choice to attack only by exploiting long balls was a clear indication from the coach, and not ‘good football’ in the winger’s eyes.
Milan have two choices: the first is to keep the current coach until June, the second is to resort to a caretaker for the rest of the campaign. The name that stands out is Mauro Tassotti, who led the Rossoneri together with Cesare Maldini in 2000-01, including the 6-0 win over Inter.
Tassotti returned to the club of his heart recently when he joined the technical staff of Milan Futuro. He could be the right person to lead the team towards a dignified end to the season, then the ‘umpteenth revolution’ will begin.
Which club is a bigger meme Milan or Man U?
We are nowhere near Manchester United levels. Not even our banter era was that bad
Not really true. We are that bad right now. The only reason why Man Utd is definitely worse is the amount of money they spent.
And they have crushing debt that the Glazers use to fund their NFL team and pay themselves dividends.
I’m not saying RedBird is building a winning project but this Milan is exponentially easier to turnaround than Man United.
They’re just setting money on fire.
Firing him at this point would be pointless. Next manager will fail too. Keep him till the end of season, find a proper SD and then reflect.
You don’t even know what you are talking about? If I may ask, when did you begin to support AC Milan? The reason i’m asking you is that you sound like a protagonist, a coach that made this kind of statement, should he still be left to be the manager of a team like AC Milan? If you are sincere with yourself, then the answer you should give is that the coach should be sacked.
Sack the imbecile now. The team’s performance is an eyesore. Say no to kick and follow football.
u do know that u never have been don’t u! Just another foolish american who had any talent to play this sport and just started watching this sport 2 days ago because his Average overhyped overrated player dragged his sorry butt out of Chelsea bench to come play in our club !!! u blame the coach u have the nerve to attack a player like Rafa Leao who has more talent in his pinky that all of your american players ever had combined !!! Instead of blaming a clueless owners and management of Milan who can’t see that Milan never had any great defensive line since Nesta and Thiago Silva and the only one who might get something out of they sent to Juventus !!!!! Americans should never run football clubs let alone a club named AC freakin Milan. Anyone would fire Paulo Maldini from Milan doesn’t know s*** about football
Sergio lost this team, it’s evident. Not only those who are underperfoming since the start but also the ones who were performing well under Fonzy. I don’t see the possibility of improvement under Sergio anymore because it gets worse each game and players look unmotivated and disconnected.
If Mauro is for it, I think it would be for the best. Players will get rid of the unwanted manager and knowing Mauro is only a caretaker, I think it could turn our season around to scrap what’s left.
If RedBird isn’t a complete joke now, it will become one if they sack Conceicao and let Tassotti cook, then replace him in the summer.
That would be FIVE coaches in one year LOL!!!
It’s not like he’s a new head coach hire. Tassoti is already on board as assistant in Futuro, might as well take over for the time being.
No I get that, but it’s the whole idea of the level of inaptitude by this management of having 5 different people coach Milan in a single year….
Maybe Fonsy is only on gardening leave and we can bring him back haha 🤣
Nice 👍 one, let’s get Mauro Tassotti to oversee the affairs of the club till the end of the season and sack this guy called Sergio Conceiçao
Mauro is the greatest RB in the history of the club. If he does come in don’t leave him without a job next season after his caretaker job is over.
Cafu has entered the chat.
If Milan sacks him, will Bennacer come back?
Which kind of Bennacer are you talking about? That injury prone player, we don’t even need him again, when Bondo recovers from injury you guys will see a better than Frank Kessie, just watch and see.
I think it’s best to start the rebuild now. This season is a write-off and the summer is too late for the start of the new season.
If we don’t win against Lazio this sunday, I don’t think Conceição is coaching us against Lecce for the game after and I don’t the point of him continuing either.
During the last decade, no team with more than 38points got relegated in serie A, so I think we’re somewhat safe.
At this rate, I’d rather we were out of Europe altogether than conference league… Proper Rebuild. focus on the league.
The problem then becomes who wants to stay in the club without Europe? Who asks to leave? And more importantly what players won’t come to Milan because of it?
Y’all think Ricci still comes to Milan without Europe money?
Also, Mauro when he was assistant, always delivered when he stepped in for the coach. He has certain respect among Milan legends and coaches.
Confirm 👍👍👍 and very correct, let’s go for Tassotti.
What a foolish comment!
The long ball tactic gave the only goal of the match…in previous games, the team has played the passing game (tiki taka) and it produced nothing either!
The team’s creative energy is low and once the opponent is able to read them, they go under. Look at teams who play like us…once the creative magic is gone, they crumble.
Our wing play is dead at the moment so the 442 or 443 formation is not working.
Fofana is dead meat at the moment and cannot help our midfield. Reindjers blows hot and cold too. Musah is all energy and poor finishing at the moment.
Did you see the quality of our defenders marking yesterday? Very poor.
Too bad for Conceicao to have come to a dead team like the present Milan squad. That’s a coach who managed a solid Porto squad and built a machine that won trophies and dominated Portugal and Europe.
What is on Tasotti’s resume?
Mauro Tassoti is good. He helped Milan a lot in the past. He also assistant of Ancelloti too.
Maybe trust the rest season to him, maybe is the right decision. And he can be ‘father’ figure to Theo, Leao and this young team.
I think it will be the best solution.
Dear Wonka,
Great players don’t need Father figures. They take opportunities to grow and explode.
Look at Raphina at Barca. Look at Adeyemi at Borussia Dortmund. Look at Haaland at ManCity. They ate born to be great.
We went from Tonali to Fofana. Went from Saleamkers to Chukwueze…
We simply imploded!
Shame on us as Milan Fans!
I think the truth is we expect to win everyday. Even the great milan team of the 90s did lose some games and we suffered a bad period on the early 2000s before we picked in 2003 again.
This is a bad period. Coach, players or not!
We must collectively look at what we have and know how to move forward from this present mess. Conceicao is not the issue.
The Creative Energy of the team is low and bad at the moment. We all like what Roma is doing at the moment and love how even “Saladmaker” as we all called him as “milan fans” before he was loaned away. Now, he is banging goals and creating assists.
I think the coach just needs to brave up ans take some rash decisions! Try some new options and methodology..
But Tassotti or Sarri will NEVER be a better option over Sergio!
His records will speak for him. A trophy in the 3 games with a team that had more creative strength and mental power.
The players are moving mad at the moment and must be made to pay for their unworthy service.
Get the f** out here. Azz kisser
Until Elliot / Redbird leave THERE WILL BE NO REVOLUTION NO CHANGES TO SPORTING OPERATIONS NO TOP LEVEL COACHES NO TOP LEVEL PLAYERS NO MAJOR TROPHIES.
CON MEN AND COWARDS PLEASE GET OUT OF MILAN AND ITALIAN FOOTBALL
Like Shao Kahn said: Enough !
If we’re lost at least losing in italian dignity. Maybe changing back to italian player and coach would be better.
Is that mean that the management is trying to prove that the results are not their mistake but coach’s? The people who suggested Fonzy and Conceicao should be shown the doors first
Until changes are made AT THE TOP – it doesn’t really matter who our coach is.
We aren’t spending money on a big name coach. We had the opportunity to do that and we, as always, took the cheaper route. Nothing will change. Our transfer policy won’t change. Or wage cap won’t change. We are going to go under another “summer revolution” and change another 10 players lol. There is NO miracle coach that’s going to come in and turn things around under these conditions.
We are NOT a TEAM. We are a bunch of individuals thrown together. Our Scudetto wining team was in fact a cohesive TEAM. Less talented than our current group of players BUT they fought for one another because they believed in Pioli and the PROJECT we (M&M) were building. We were right there – a few good proven players away from sustained league and UCL success. BUT the EGO and GREED of Gerry ruined everything.
Now we are a ship without a captain, just sailing in the water with no end in sight. And that starts FROM THE TOP. We have no real leader. The club is run by a Banker with ZERO experience running a sporting club; the owner is too busy to show up to any games and publicity says his first responsibility is to make $$ for his investors: we have no sporting director; a scout who thinks he’s a sporting director who has ZERO experience; and a former player with ZERO experience as a director.
So is anyone really surprised at the state we are in??? It’s not that easy just to sign talented players and think it will all come together. Team sports don’t work that way. There is also a reason some of these players were available on the cheap – because injuries or underperformance (Felix, RLC, Morata, etc…). Only one (Pulisic) turned his career around. The rest we got what we should have expected for the $$.
Bottom line is: until we change Ownership, management, our policies etc… – nothing will change. Same thing will happen next year. And we will have another “summer revolution” again and again.
The definition of “insanity” is doing the same thing over and over, yet expecting different results
Unfortunately that is what we are right now under Redbird: INSANE
Sadly, because of mismanagement that’s been going on for 2 and a half seasons now, we are bound to go through another revolution. And the craziest thing, many Gerry fanboys here will expect immediate results after changing again half of the team and a coach. it’s fast fashion fans that came with that American greaseball. Just sad.
Agreed.
This @Juro!
Cardinale and Ibra are fraternal twins. They’re both egomaniacs. Cardinale couldn’t stand the fact that Maldini had a larger than life image. So, cut him to size. Fire him and show him who is boss, after he’s the new owner of AC Milan. When he saw the backlash, he hired his fraternal twin Ibra who he thinks is a Milan legend and can conveniently deflect the flask. Newsflash: Ibra IS NOT a Milan legend. Show me his trophy haul with Milan for starters. How many Champions League did he win with Milan? Scratch that how many Champions League did he win anywhere, anyway?
The only thing Ibra had was ego and it’s the same thing that’s playing out here with Milan. Rather stay with the core of the team and build gradually, he and his paymaster decide to unhinge everything. In his warped mind, he believes he can build a team from scratch. So, he started a systematic dismantling of the team built by Maldini. It looked like they were strengthening the team. Isn’t that what we were told with Tonali’s sale?
At the beginning of this season it was Kalulu and Saelemaekers turn to leave. Guess who came in Emerson Royale! If we say Calabria is not good enough, how is it that Kalulu and Saelemaekers are not adequate replacement instead of Emerson Royale?
January transfer deadline day: ship out Bennacer and bring in an injured Bondo. Masterclass, I must say. Make it look like Bennacer asked to leave. Wasn’t it the same way Tonali asked to leave? Bennacer asked to leave on transfer deadline day?! Tell it to the marines.
By the end of the season, one or two of Maignan, Théo, Tomori or Leao will leave.
If you can’t see the subtle hint that something fundamental is wrong with Milan. Perhaps, there’s a hint of players silent protest against the management. Yes, they pay them as some will argue. But bear in mind these guys can still get good salaries elsewhere. Theo can. Maignan can and Leao certainly can.
But you guys can keep complaining about the coach and all. Until Cardinale and his pet-poodle Ibra leave, it’s a hard road to travel for Milan fans.
All facts! We don’t see many of the “we’re better since Tonali sale” bunch anymore to explain how this is so much better. I wonder why. Each transfer window seems like a revo. I can’t even keep up. plus now, we’re definitely guaranteed another revolution in the summer
Straight up 💯
Keep Sergio until season end. No point for hiring care taker now.
Jimenez was clearly struggling in defense last night, why not remove him and add Pulisic then Musah covers at right back and Tijjani enters the mid field. Yesterday’s defeat was clearly on the coach. Resorting to long balls gave us a goal but we clearly don’t have bullies in our team up front like city and Liverpool with Haaland, Diaz, Gakpo etc. Truth be told, this team has no spine. This isn’t about the coach, it about the culture, it was there during Maldini’s time, Ibra only came to paper the crack and Morata couldn’t generate that kind of authority from the players. Give the current coach good players with spine and see him do wonders. Fofana is still not the solution to our midfield. We need a 4 like Gana, Raphael Onyedika, Ndidi.
The management should have upgrade the team as it is now for Pioli instead of sacking him..
I can openly say the team and players played better under Pioli than Fonzy and Sergio.
With this upgrade in quality and quantity Pioli would have do better….
Tassotti might be able to guard the team till end of the season with all the experience he has being assistant to Carlo and Allegri. and in football world in general.
Conciecao type of football is a NO NO.. No rhythm
My problem is that I said this time after time we don’t need pulisic,Theo this our problem Acmilan should sell this dude let’s rely on chukwueze, Sottil,Felix and leao only till the season runs out. But if Acmilan is to bring tassoti Mauro let him be our permanent coach Mauro tassoti can get the job done perhaps is an experienced coach.
Any coach that can sanction the sale of a midfielder to sign an injured one, not concerned about team chemistry has a problem. I guess the biggest problem is Ibra the egomaniac who is hellbent on creating his own Milan with Cardinale. So, we are witnessing a systematic dismantling of the team built by Maldini under the guise of strengthening the team.
Explain the loaning out of Kalulu and Saelemaekers to purchase Emerson Royale? Couldn’t those two cover effectively for Calabria?
Explain Bennacer leaving to bring in an injured Bondo? Musah with all his potential is “all gas no breaks” apologies to Jacob Fati. The problem is that’s only good for wrestling and not football.
The first thing they destroyed is team chemistry. It doesn’t matter which coach comes. He has to start from scratch. He has to get the players confidence before he can begin to build a team.
Since this season is doomed already might as well start the rebuild now by replacing the three clowns at the top and hire experienced proven managers ( Italians please). Otherwise, change the coach now and some players in the summer will not change much. Gotta give time to the new managers (if there will be any) to plot the course for the future of milan. Doubt it if redturd will make that kind of move.
so many seasons to write off -eh
Please do it 🙏🙏🙏 please I beg of it 😭 hahaha 😂. It would make for good history. Can’t go half circus, go full circus 🎪. And at this point there’s no risk at all, we’re not qualifying for Europe anyway. So win-win and classic Furlani investment….low risk high reward 😁
Bring back Maldini
You crap management
Why wait. Fire him now. The longer you wait the more damage he can do to our players. He’s already ruined Reijnders, Pulisic and Leao.
Even the players are embarrassed to be playing this style of football. “This is not good football”. WHen the players are openly saying this, it is over.
I really expected more from Sarge. It started really well but in my opinion the time has come for him to step aside. We are performing worse and worse. He clearly lost the team. If Mauro indeed comes, let him consolidate the team and see where we finish come the end of the season. Having worked with Carletto for so long he definitely can use this experience to improve the team.
