Conflicting reports emerge over Chelsea’s pursuit of €60m Milan target – Real Madrid want to sell

By Oliver Fisher -

Chelsea have entered the race to sign Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic in the upcoming summer transfer window, a report claims.

The Rossoneri have been persistently linked with a move for Jovic over the past few weeks as they look to give incoming manager Ralf Rangnick a new centre-forward to work with amid doubts over the future of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

A number of striker targets have been mentioned such as Myron Boadu, Victor Osimhen and Arkadiusz Milik, but Jovic is the one who has been linked most.

According to what is being reported by Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo (via MilanNews), Chelsea are also thinking about making a move for Jovic having asked Real Madrid for information on the Serbia international.

The player is not part of Zinedine Zidane’s plans which opens the door to an exit, but the Blues face competition from Milan and Leicester, the report adds.

Meanwhile, transfer source Louis Girardi claims on Twitter that there has in fact been no contact between Chelsea and Real Madrid over the 22-year-old.

Jovic has scored just twice all season after a €60m move from Eintracht Frankfurt last summer.
