CorSport: De Ketelaere set to undergo Atalanta soon – the figures of the move

By Euan Burns -

Charles De Ketelaere’s move to Atalanta is set to go through very soon with the medical expected to take place on Tuesday, so here is a reminder of the finances involved in the deal.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via Pianeta Milan), Atalanta will be immediately paying AC Milan a fee of €3m for the season-long loan.

Atalanta will then have the possibility to buy De Ketelaere permanently at the end of the season for an agreed fee of €26m.

Should that happen, Milan could then get a further €4m in bonuses from Atalanta. Milan will also get 10% of any sale Atalanta make of De Ketelaere in the future.

Having spent €35.5 million on De Ketelaere a year ago, the most that Milan are able to recoup thanks to this deal is €33m.

Considering De Ketelaere made almost no impact for Milan last season, it should be viewed as a success to almost break even.

  1. Yes, and when the boy adapts to Serie A in his 2nd season (like most players do) and Atalanta gets 50-60m, it will be a fail…

    1. Don’t wait anything like that to happen cdk will come back next year to milan to give us more problems I think you mistaken to other players

  2. This is going to be really intriguing. Gonna have to record Atalanta games now hahaha 😂
Hope he does we’ll wherever he goes. There’s clearly something blocking him mentally that I hope he resolves for his own sake.
