The potential renewal of Olivier Giroud’s contract with AC Milan could be about to get quite complicated as he has to consider the wishes of his family, a report suggests.
According to a report from Corriere dello Sport (via Pianeta Milan), the French striker would actually be keen to continue with Milan for another season, and the club would certainly be happy to offer him a new contract.
His current deal ends at the conclusion of this season so there is not much time to secure the Frenchman’s services, but it is not a decision that is entirely down to him.
He has to consider whether his family would prefer his career to end outside of Europe, perhaps in MLS in the United States, or elsewhere.
It would provide an opportunity to live somewhere totally different to Milan, and he would also likely be able to garner a bigger salary if he went to play in America or in the Middle East for the next year or two of his career.
If Giroud does decide that he wants to keep playing in Europe, then Milan will be his priority and a deal should be easy to agree between both parties.
