AC Milan are ‘one step away’ from sealing the renewal of playmaker Hakan Calhanoglu, according to a report.
According to this morning’s edition of il Corriere della Sera (via MilanLive), there have been talks between the parties which have further reduced the distance between offer and demand. Calhanoglu was even at Casa Milan on Tuesday and reaffirmed his will to remain at the club.
Milan have always been calm and optimistic, and yesterday the negotiation started the final straight. The bridge between the offer (€4m net per season) and request (€5m) will be the bonuses, some easily reachable.
Calhanoglu therefore will continue to play at Milan unless there are some sensational changes, and head coach Stefano Pioli will certainly be among the happiest as he has become such a key part of his system.
The 27-year-old will now have to rediscover his lost form due to Covid and end the season with a flourish.
