The decision by head coach Marco Giampaolo to switch formation to a 4-3-3 has ‘calmed’ Zvonomir Boban and Paolo Maldini, a report claims.
Giampaolo has not had an ideal start to life as Milan boss, with his side having lost three of their first five Serie A games, scoring just one goal in the process.
This has led to suggestions (from il Corriere dello Sport) that the club have already drawn up a list of his potential replacements, and that Sunday’s game against Fiorentina could be vital.
According to il Corriere della Sera – as cited by MilanNews – the club’s hierarchy have been reassured by the coach’s decision to abandon his 4-3-1-2 formation in favour of one with wingers.
The report claims that Boban and Maldini had been suggesting tactical variation ‘for some time’ and appear to have finally got through to Giampaolo.
