CorSera: Milan achieve first away win of the season after action-packed night

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan managed to get the job done against Sampdoria at the Marassi after what was a game that was full of incidents and controversy.

Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) have spoken about Milan’s victory at Sampdoria, remarking how the Rossoneri played the first half of the match with quality but the second half was certainly a bit more complicated.

At the beginning of the second half, Rafael Leao committed a high boot offence that led to a second yellow card and therefore left his team-mates playing a man down for around 50 minutes when considering added time.

The Rossoneri end up in apnea, but Olivier Giroud earned the win with a penalty responding in the right way after Djuricic has equalised through a header at the near post, with Pioli’s men suffering from a lack of concentration in defence.

The finale was one of suffering for Milan as Maignan saved them twice, first with a huge save against Gabbiadini, then with a stop from the same player after Sabiri had hit the post with the rebound.
