CorSera: Milan close to renewal of star man – length, salary and release clause outlined

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are desperate to keep holding of goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and there is confidence regarding a positive solution, a report claims.

According to il Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews), with regards to the renewal of Donnarumma there is increasing optimism filtering, both from the club and from the player himself.

The two parties wish to extend the current relationship, and agent Mino Raiola knows very well that this is not the right summer for business, i.e. to sell the 21-year-old.

Milan – in order to satisfy Gigio and his agent – could agree to the inclusion of a release clause of €50million, while regarding his salary the fixed part would be below the current €6m-a-year but with bonuses that could take it above that figure. The contract would be until 2023.

The negotiation, which is essentially waiting for a decisive meeting, has been going on for weeks by videoconference. In the meantime, Donnarumma is focused on the field and the goal to be achieved: his 200th appearance for the club against Sassuolo on Tuesday night.
