CorSera: Milan considering new midfield profiles as three current targets are unaffordable

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s management are hard at work to try and secure a new midfield for Stefano Pioli, a report claims, and it could be a name from left field.

According to Saturday’s edition of il Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews), Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara intend to further strengthen the options available to Pioli.

A surprise signing cannot be excluded; a name that is a name different from those that have emerged so far. This is because the three main targets for the midfield are currently unviable economically.

For Tiemoue Bakayoko everything seemed done, but Chelsea do not intend to give a discount on the option to buy. There is the same problem with Benfica for Florentino Luis, while for Soumaré Lille seem willing to accept only a permanent transfer (no loan).

Milan, therefore, are looking around in search of another solution and there are new profiles in the viewfinder. Bakayoko remains at the top of the list, however, and the situation could unlock at the end of the market.
