AC Milan may have gone above expectations in their Champions League campaign but their Serie A season continues to be a disappointment.
According to Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews), Milan’s journey Champions League has been absolutely exceptional regardless of how it goes tomorrow night, but the same cannot be said of their performances in the league.

After winning the Scudetto, the Rossoneri’s results have been well below expectations as they currently sit in fifth place and risk missing out on next year’s edition of the Champions League, which – as has been stated many times – is crucial to the project.
The paper claims that two problems above all have contributed to the failure domestically, which also includes the Coppa Italia loss to Torino and the Supercoppa defeat against Inter.
The first is that the summer transfer window had too many mistakes, and the second is that Stefano Pioli’s side have dropped too many points against the lower-ranking sides.
