CorSera: Milan face Chelsea with a selection crisis due to injury problems

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are never far away from an emergency it seems, and they will take on Chelsea tonight at Stamford Bridge with a lot of injured players.

Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) writes that Mike Maignan, Theo Hernandez, Simon Kjaer, Davide Calabria, Alexis Saelemaekers, Junior Messias, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Alessandro Florenzi are injured while Malick Thiaw, Aster Vranckx and Yacine Adli were not names in the Champions League squad.

It is quite a sizeable list of absentees that Stefano Pioli will have to battle, in particular in the defensive department where the choices are practically obligatory. In front of Tatarusanu will be Dest and Ballo-Touré at full-back, with Kalulu and Tomori in the centre. The only other defender available will be Gabbia.

Another role in which there is a great emergency is in attack given both Messias and Saelemaekers are out, so the wild card Krunic will play on the right wing, along with Rafael Leao, Charles De Ketelaere and of course Olivier Giroud.
