CorSera: Milan facing a formidable psychological test vs. Inter – they must show their growth

By Oliver Fisher -

After Saturday’s defeat against Lombardy neighbours Atalanta, Milan will have a chance to put it right against another rival when they play Inter tonight.

As il Corriere della Sera writes this morning (via MilanNews), the Coppa Italia quarter-final between the Nerazzurri and the Rossoneri this evening might have taken on a different meaning had both teams not slipped up at the weekend, but now it has become almost an obligation that there is an immediate reaction.

It takes on more importance now though, as in the case of Milan the fear is that a new defeat could open a crisis. Ibrahimovic has tried to encourage his team, stating: “We must react immediately,” and we know perfectly well that a clear and immediate response is essential tonight.

Pioli’s ambitious Milan side – strengthened by Ibra’s leadership – have grown a lot and want to win in every game of every competition they play, which is why tonight is a formidable psychological test. If the Diavolo have really grown up, they will have to prove it in this match.
