AC Milan are close to closing a deal with Chelsea for midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko and could announce his signing in the coming days.
That is according to Thursday’s edition of il Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews), which reports that the Rossoneri should soon close the deal for Bakayoko.
The negotiations with Chelsea, in fact, are at an advanced stage and the management have offered up €20-22million for the French midfielder.
With no mention of a loan with option/obligation, we assume the paper means a straight transfer fee that would see Bakayoko join permanently immediately.
Bakayoko continues to be persistently linked with the possibility of a San Siro comeback, having had a successful loan spell in Serie A under Gennaro Gattuso in 2018-19, and numerous reports have suggested that Chelsea do not see him as part of their plans and that the player is desperate to return to the environment he knows so well.
