CorSera: Milan lose head-to-head clash and top spot – a bad start to a week of fire

By Oliver Fisher -

The return from the international break was anything but happy for AC Milan who last night not only lost the match against Juventus, but their position at the top of the table.

As Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) write this morning, the key incident was obviously the red card given to Malick Thiaw which left his team-mates a man down for over half of the game.

Manuel Locatelli then scored the winning goal in the second half, but Rade Krunic’s unfortunate deflection was decisive here too. Despite the numerical inferiority, Stefano Pioli’s team still played a good match, even if in the end they lost.

With this win, Juventus can no longer hide and now they are also in the running for the Scudetto, despite what Max Allegri, the managers and the Biaconeri players continue to say about focusing on top four.

For Milan, however, a second defeat comes in the league came after the one in the derby, but the Rossoneri must turn the page immediately because a fiery week has begun.

Pioli’s men will be back on the field against PSG in the French capital on Wednesday night as they look for their first Champions League win, while an away match against Napoli on Sunday follows.

  1. For me, I don’t care if we lose 5 more times to Inter, I don’t care if Inter win CL this season.

What would hurt me most is seeing Inter get that second star on their shirt before Milan.
