CorSera: Milan lay down requirements for Bennacer’s new partner – €40m Chelsea man eyed

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are in the market for a long-term partner for Ismael Bennacer and are considering Tiemoue Bakayoko, a report claims.

According to the paper edition of il Corriere della Sera on Sunday – as cited by MilanNews – CEO Ivan Gazidis’ right-hand man Hendrik Almstadt and chief scout Geoffrey Moncada are looking for suitable profiles to reinforce the midfield.

Milan’s strategy is to find a ‘muscular’ player to put alongside the Algeria international who is more known for his battling qualities than his playmaking.

The name of Tiemoué Bakayoko is still present in the Milan notebook: the Frenchman – owned by Chelsea – has already sent signals to his former club that he would be happy to return.

We reported last week that Bakayoko does indeed want to rejoin Milan this summer as Monaco will not exercise their €40million option to buy, and that while the Diavolo could launch a new loan bid (with option) the deciding say will be down to incoming boss Ralf Rangnick.
