CorSera: Man Utd and Real Madrid want Milan defender but must pay €70m+

There seems to be as many rumours about potential outgoings as there does signings for AC Milan at the moment, and an update on Theo Hernandez has arrived.

This morning’s edition of Corriere della Sera (via PianetaMilan) wrote about how Milan are asking for at least €100m to let Mike Maignan leave, with the goalkeeper attracting interest from Manchester United and Chelsea.

However, he is not the only Milan star that is attracting interest from clubs abroad because Theo Hernández is a profile that many top European sides are keen on.

He arrived at Milan in the summer of 2019 from Real Madrid for €20m and has gone on to establish himself as potentially the best in the world in his position, with Los Blancos actually keen on potentially re-signing him.

However, Corriere della Sera writes that an offer of at least €70m will be needed to even make the Rossoneri management sit at the negotiation table. Manchester United, Manchester City and Atlético Madrid are also mentioned as having interest.

    1. Man utd has issues with their left back spots even though they have players for that position. Shaw is getting older but has more output than a young Malacia. The others are young and didn’t show much this season but could break out in the future. I could see a player plus cash deal with Malacia involved.
Source: I watch alot of man utd games as my bro is a man utd fan so I’m as connected as can be

  1. City need a RB… However, what we are seeing is the new business model approach to our transfers. I’m predicting we sell our top players for big money, and replace and then sell the new guys for a profit, and so on and so forth. Like Ajax.

The problem is, AJax can sell and replace each year and still make the CL. We will struggle to do this in a far more competitive league.

The key points will be how/if we reinvest, and ensuring the owners dont get greedy and sell all the family silver all at once.

  2. In my view theo is propably the player that would be the most difficult to replace in the squad so i wouldnt consider any offers below 100 mil for him if i had to make the call.

  3. Acmilan is a pity we can not spend money but we can sell players. If Cardinale cannot bump money to buy players the coach want then then Cardinale should sell the club to any Arabian owner because Acmilan need a positive change we don’t want replication of uncertainties

  4. With huge financial mamooth from madrid and united. They can bring this 2 guys with 150m combines. Thats american day dream bro…

  5. Cardinale is smiling right now.. He doesn’t have any obstacle anymore to do “his business” since he sack maldini.
Theo 70+ m, Maignan 100 m, Tonali 60 m, and let’s added to the list other “mediocre” players such as Messias, Rebic, Origi that already on the list to be sold. He would have 200+m in his pocket.
Then he would say, We could build a champion team with that money, a team that could win anything from Serie A to Champions League, but in the end of 2023/2024 season we could only fight for europa league, or even maybe (hopefully not) European Conference League, then all he could say is that this team is still young, give them a chance to grow, let’s try again next season..
