CorSera: Milan want to accelerate the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic – the strategy

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are hoping to have striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic back before the usual 14-day quarantine period expires, a report claims.

It was confirmed by the club on Thursday that Ibrahimovic had tested positive for Coronavirus, joining Leo Duarte among those this week who have contracted the virus.

According to il Corriere della Sera (via MilanLive) on Friday, it seems that Milan want to accelerate Ibrahimovic’s recovery time. The Rossoneri’s plan is to test him daily, hoping to get two negative swabs as soon as possible. As soon as this happens the player could return to Stefano Pioli’s disposal, obviously having received the green light from ATS too.

Therefore there is a chance that the Swede could potential return before the international break, though at the moment the most likely scenario appears to be a return for the derby in Round 4 of the Serie A season.

That being said, the 38-year-old has no symptoms and there is confidence that he will be able to heal in shorter times than expected.
