Junior Messias sustained an injury in AC Milan’s 0-0 draw against Tottenham and unfortunately for him, he will have to sit on the sidelines for a while. He will be out for around a month, a report claims.
In the 56th minute of Spurs-Milan, Messias sat down in the grass and was unable to carry on. Tests have since revealed that he has suffered a muscle injury to his right hamstring, which wasn’t the news he was hoping for.
According to Corriere Della Sera (via MilanNews), the Brazilian winger will be out for a month and the goal is now to be back for the Champions League quarter-finals. Until them, Alexis Saelemaekers will be the starting man on the right.
Stefano Pioli also has the likes of Davide Calabria, Alessandro Florenzi and Sergino Dest at his disposal. Calabria is probably ahead among those but Florenzi shouldn’t be ruled out, especially given his attacking abilities and the new role in the 3-4-3.
Based on the other hamatring injuries we had this year his season will be over.
Speedy recovery Messias 🙂 Hope to see you soon in the lineup
