CorSera: Optimism filters regarding Donnarumma’s renewal after Raiola’s visit to Italy – the latest

By Oliver Fisher -

There is optimism filtering from AC Milan regarding the possibility of reaching an agreement over Gianluigi Donnarumma’s renewal, a report claims.

According to Tuesday’s edition of il Corriere della Sera (via MilanLive), Donnarumma’s agent Mino Raiola has been in Italy in recent days and is likely to have spoken to directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara about the situation.

Raiola has given his opening to the idea of his client renewing with Milan – as he should – but the negotiation will not be easy and the Rossoneri are relying on willingness of the player, who has always said he wants to stay.

The paper adds that the renewal of Donnarumma could arrive in the next few weeks and that there is optimism about the situation. While that in theory means that an official announcement could come at any time, it is still a delicate situation and Raiola is capable of producing twists and turns.

It must also be remembered that Raiola looks after two other Milan players in Alessio Romagnoli and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Rossoneri captain is on a deal which expires in June 2022, so there is a little more time to think about it, while Ibrahimovic looks set to want to play another year.
