Stefano Pioli’s new deal and the increasingly probable permanence of Paolo Maldini has made Zlatan Ibrahimovic change his mind.
According to il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews), the Swede now wants to renew his contract with Milan which expires at the end of this season, while the club want the same and have already started contacts with agent Mino Raiola to try to reach an agreement as soon as possible.
The paper claims that the main hurdle is economic, as Ibrahimovic is asking for €6million net salary for a new one-year deal which is too high for Milan, but the player seems willing to accept a discount.
The negotiation between the parties will continue in the next few days when there will also be a face-to-face meeting between Maldini and Raiola to try to find an agreement. The feeling is that an offer of €4million plus personal and team bonuses could be enough.
