CorSera: The ‘day of truth’ arrives for Milan – a loss to Juventus could mean another year zero

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan know that tonight’s game against Juventus is one that could very well determine their future and whether or not a top four spot is attainable.

Il Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) describes it as ‘the day of truth’ as the fate of Milan rests on this game. From Donnarumma to Ibrahimovic, from Calhanoglu to Stefano Pioli, the protagonists need to step up and show they are capable of establishing a valuable advantage over a direct competitor.

Not only that, but a success at Allianz Stadium would allow Milan to face the last, decisive games of the season in the best possible way. The impression is that the games will remain open until the last day, but it is clear that tonight’s game will heavily influence the Champions League race. Pioli will rely Ibrahimovic, but the Swede will have to be supported properly, so the whole team will have to be determined.

Without the money from the Champions League, the risk of yet another year zero for Milan is real and and keeping the best players would be difficult. Milan, after squandering the accumulated advantage will have to regain the hunger of the first months.

  1. AC Milan is now a small club…with small club mentality..even when they were leading the league, they refused to invest and dropped off to mediocrity in 5th..where they are comfortable. This club do not deserve the UCL….they play terrible football and don’t invest in the team like Juve or Inter…Dissolve the club and start afresh
