CorSport: Blow for Milan, Juventus as two signs suggest Inter are closing in on signing of Tonali

By Oliver Fisher -

Inter are moving full steam ahead to try and beat rivals AC Milan and Juventus to the signing of Brescia star Sandro Tonali.

That is according to il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanLive), who write that their sporting director Beppe Marotta is working with Brescia president Massimo Cellino to reach an agreement on the transfer formula.

The Nerazzurri have already received the approval of Tonali regarding the move, which is why Marotta has decided to speed up and start negotiations.

It is believed that the deal can be closed with a formula of a loan with obligation to buy, and Antonio Conte has pitched the idea of Tonali partnering Niccolo Barella in an all-Italian engine room, with Christian Eriksen more advanced.

It would of course represent a sizeable blow to Milan, who would see a boyhood fan of the club – and a player seemingly perfect for the new project Elliott Management have in mind – join one of their bitter rivals.
