Pierre Kalulu has been the big surprise for AC Milan in the last few months, forming an almost unbeatable partnership with Fikayo Tomori at the back. However, his success doesn’t rule out a move for Sven Botman.
The Dutch defender has been heavily linked with the Rossoneri as of late and just a few days ago, Fabrizio Romano reported that he’s ready to join the club. Talks are at an advanced stage and he could be the first arrival this summer.
According to today’s edition of Corriere Dello Sport, as cited by MilanNews, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have not changed their plans because of Kalulu’s explosion. With the expected exit of Alessio Romagnoli, they would need a centre-back anyway.
Furthermore, Simon Kjaer’s condition is unknown and it remains to be seen if he will be as strong as before the injury. Therefore, Milan are moving ahead with the Botman operation as they want a really strong defence to rely on.
