CorSport: Chelsea midfielder would ‘gladly return’ to AC Milan – €30m+ price set

By Oliver Fisher -

Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko would ‘gladly accept’ a return to AC Milan in the future, according to a report.

The Frenchman became a fan favourite during his time on loan at Milan from the Premier League side, though the club did not exercise their option to buy and he was subsequently loaned back to Monaco last summer.

Despite this, Bakayoko has not hidden his affinity for Milan, and was even in attendance at San Siro for Sunday’s Derby della Madonnina. This of course comes after Bakayoko made the shock admission last month that he prefers Milan to parent club Chelsea during a video interview last month.

According to il Corriere dello Sport – as cited by MilanLive – the 25-year-old would gladly return to Milan.

However, Monaco will have to pay around €40million to Chelsea to make his loan move permanent, so it will be necessary to see first of all if the Ligue 1 side have any intention of doing so.

In addition, return to Milan remains complicated, given that no less than €30million will be needed to buy the player. He also earns €3m net annual salary, meaning that it is ‘difficult’ to see a reunion between Bakayoko and Milan at present.
