CorSport: Gap emerges in initial talks between Milan and Real Madrid over forward

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are not looking for a complete and total attacking overhaul as they would like to keep certain players, one of whom is Brahim Diaz.

Brahim’s loan from Real Madrid will expire at the end of this season, and today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) has offered the latest news on what the future might hold for the playmaker.

The management’s idea is to permanently sign the Spaniard after his three-year loan spell at the club but the negotiation will not be easy at all, as there a gap between what Milan are willing to pay and the demands of Real Madrid.

Los Blancos are asking for around €30m to permanently sell Brahim Diaz, a sizeable figure that would be a high portion of the Rossoneri’s summer budget. Paolo Maldini, on the other hand, would be willing to offer €18-20m for the 23-year-old.

Meetings are scheduled for the next few days to speak with both the player himself and the team from the Spanish capital. The gap seems large and will need filing down, while the will of Brahim could also be key.

  1. “Gap emerges in talks between Madrid and Milan over Diaz…” Let’s hope it gets wider.

To be fair, I like Diaz when he’s playing well, but it’s just not often enough. If we can keep for 15mil and he’s happy to be backup to a better player, I’m fine with it.

      1. Yes diaz has been bullied so many times by opponent not to mention his consistency is questionable. Also 30M euros is madness. Better find better AM with better price range period

  2. Looks like there will be no deal. 30M is way too much but I suspect Real will have no problem offloading him for around that price to somewhere else.

  3. Real Madrid should not sell brahim diaz at any cost cos is afuture player for real madrid and he will boost our attack and we can not rely on only vinicius and we have to have plan B on the pitch and brahim diaz can play attacking midfield, right wing and left wing that’s an addition for us.Hala madrid number one.I am sending this msg from Lagos,Nigeria.

  4. Well if CDK cost us 30 million then it’s not a bad deal given his performances with Milan in the past few years, don’t you think?

  5. Think pessina or zaccagni would be good for milan. They natural playmaker. Another good player i think its harry winks at sampdoria. Hes good long passer. With his team already relegation, milan can catch him with lower price. Above all, first milan have to qualify european football.

  6. Diaz is inconsistent. No way he’s worth even 20. That’s madness. He just needs to stay on loan spells until we find a reliable playmaker.

  7. Brahim Diaz is not a good player, milan should not even consider signing this guy, they should be happy to offload this guy quick back to real madrid, i wouldnt even pay 18 millions for Diaz, Diaz is a player you buy if he only cost under 10 millions

  8. I think Brahim diaz is not physical enough to play for a club like milan , diaz has been caught in possession more times than any other milan player I think we should let him go , Milan should spend that money trying to lure Houssem Aourr of Marsielle over i see him doing things in a milan shirt ,brahim has gotten a lot of chances and failed there’s no assurance from him.

  9. Madrid can have him back. Decent player but I never got the wild “Young Messi” vibes people were on about. Madrid fans forget we’ve watched him consistently play for 3 seasons now. Any legit Milanista cam pick his failings apart but all I will say is his development is much slower than Bennacer, Sandro, Leao and Theo all around the same age and the first three with less appearances in their first two seasons. Unfortunately, he’s good one game in five, loses possesion quite often and has little defensive contribution due to lack of height and physicality. When he’s on he’s well on though. If he can be consistent he’s potentially world class. For now, maybe 15 to 18 million max. But we’ll not be crying if Madrid takes him back tbh. We’d rather sign Kamada on a Bosman, keep Adli and CDK and give these lads more opportunities ffs! Esp Adli.
