CorSport: Ibrahimovic closing in on targets to trigger automatic contract renewal

By Oliver Fisher -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is closing in on achieving some of the targets that would trigger an automatic renewal of his contract, a report claims.

The Swede officially sealed his return to the Rossoneri at the beginning of the month, and his impact has been felt both on and off the pitch.

Ibrahimovic has only missed two games since his arrival: the match against SPAL in the Coppa Italia and the league game against Verona. Eight total appearances plus three goals scored, and of course helping Stefano Pioli to implement a new system.

According to Monday’s edition of newspaper il Corriere dello Sport – as cited by MilanLive – Ibrahimovic is motoring towards achieving some of the objectives set by the contract to trigger a renewal for next season.

If this continues, there would be no discussion at the end of the season, although probably – given the transformation he has brought – the Diavolo would not be against it anyway.

The decision though could of course rest with Ibra, who will turn 39 next season.
