CorSport: Ibrahimovic lays out salary request as Milan stay is not excluded – the latest

By Oliver Fisher -

Striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has laid out his salary requests for if he were to sign a new contract and stay at AC Milan, a report claims.

We reported on Wednesday night that there was a heated confrontation between Ibrahimovic and Gazidis at Milanello, with the latter having stepped foot onto the training ground for the first time in three months.

During the meeting with the squad, they both raised their voices as the 38-year-old attacked the former Arsenal director for being too distant. The confrontation began almost immediately, in front of part of the squad and lasted for a few minutes.

Several reports have since suggested that this points to an inevitable departure once the season is completed, but il Corriere dello Sport provide a different take.

The paper (via MilanLive) reports that Ibrahimovic is also nervous about his contractual situation. He would like a meeting as soon as possible to resolve his future and he wants to know if Milan intend to keep him.

Zlatan is available to discuss his stay, but wants precise guarantees on the project. The renewal issue has not yet been addressed and the club want to see if Europe League football will be achieved first.

CEO Ivan Gazidis is taking his time therefore but Zlatan wants the issue to be discussed before the season ends and has even laid out his salary request of €4million net – a high figure for a player who will turn 39 in October.
