CorSport: Man Utd plan to scout 22-year-old Milan star first hand during Europa League tie

By Oliver Fisher -

Manchester United will take a look at Gianluigi Donnarumma first hand during the Europa League tie between them and AC Milan, a report claims.

According to il Corriere dello Sport (via Football Italia), Donnarumma will start for the Rossoneri against the Red Devils at Old Trafford on Thursday, and the English side have him in mind as a possible transfer target.

The 22-year-old’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season and the two parties have not yet reached an agreement over a renewal, with virtually every major source reporting that agent Mino Raiola’s economic demands are too high for the management to agree to.

The paper adds that Raiola wants a pay rise to €10m net per season to extend Donnarumma’s stay at San Siro but the Rossoneri cannot afford that. United are keeping a close eye on developments and are even planning a move to sign him as a free agent at the end of the season, given doubts over David De Gea and Dean Henderson.
