While Olivier Giroud has gone a few weeks without a goal, the AC Milan management seem to have made the decision to extend his contract.
That is according to Corriere dello Sport (via SempreMilan.it), who recall that Olivier Giroud has been without a goal for a month and a half, having scored five times in the opening four rounds of the new season.
After the last goal scored against Roma from a penalty back in September, the French centre-forward managed two assists for Rafael Leao against Inter and Hellas Verona without however finding the net himself.
This drought doesn’t affect the pecking order in the slightest so Giroud will be the starter on Sunday against Juventus. Furthermore, the management are working to try and extend his contract for another season until June 2025.
However, it is unlikely that Giroud will play a leading role next season as has been the case during his time at the club to this point. Instead, the 37-year-old will help a new striker settle in and Geoffrey Moncada has Lille’s Jonathan David at the top of his list.
